A Legacy of Freedom

Welcome to Dakota's Legacy Ranch, a 501(c)3 foundation dedicated to rescuing wild mustangs from long-term holding and providing them with forever homes. Located in beautiful Greenback, Tennessee, we offer foundational training and essential care to ensure each horse is ready for adoption. Join us in our mission to give these magnificent creatures a second chance at life.

Welcome Home Wildflower & Ruger!

Exciting news is happening at the ranch. We found out on Christmas Day we will be driving to Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma on January 26th to go get our new IA ( internet adoption) horses! The original plan was to go on November 11, 2025, but because the government was shut down, they cancelled the event and pickups. We will be heading up on the night of the 24th and touring the little town on Sunday the 25th, then driving back on the 26th. We won’t be back until early Tuesday morning, so we will provide housing overnight for a few of the other IA horses riding back with our horses, Wildflower and Ruger. We are hoping to be able to provide our ranch as a future pick up location for other owners to pick up their horses from the surrounding states.
