A good fit for someone looking to adopt includes a horse in healthy shape, that has built a strong foundation, and has an open heart to let others in. We strive to ensure each of our mustangs meet these qualities, making them wonderful companions for the right adopter.
Dakota's heartwarming story
One night, about two weeks after I adopted Dakota, I was feeding him in the dark. (He still was untouched.) It was storming, and a huge flash of lightning lit up the sky and it spooked Dakota. So much so that we both fell in the slippery mud and running water in the corral. As soon as he fell, he stopped and looked for me before he got up. Once he laid eyes on me, he slowly got up being sure he wouldn't injure me in the process. I looked as best as I could to make sure he wasn't injured. He was all ok, but just covered in mud. Ever since that night, he has protected me from everyone and everything that looks possibly threatening to him.
